They took in two kittens who needed help and watched the feline brothers blossom into the sweetest pair.

Two kittens were found outside without their mother, clinging to each other for comfort. They were taken to a city animal shelter, where their future was uncertain.
Though the brothers received initial treatment for stomach issues, it became clear they needed more care than the shelter could provide. They were tiny, underweight, and especially vulnerable in the kennel environment.
Wanting to give them a fighting chance, a volunteer reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montreal, a cat rescue, asking if they could take both kittens in.

The rescue responded immediately. With the volunteer's help, the kittens were safely transported to Montreal and placed into foster care. The brothers, named Sam (tabby) and tom (black-and-white), were just skin and bones beneath their fluffy coats.
"It was clear they had been without their mother for quite some time and were seeking human contact and comfort," the rescue shared.

With medication and dedicated care, the kittens recovered from an upper respiratory infection. Sam, the weaker of the two, faced a tougher battle. He struggled with severe stomach issues and had trouble gaining weight, but he never gave up.
"Their foster mom weighed them every day and helped them eat to make sure they were getting enough food."

Thanks to round-the-clock care and endless affection, the kittens regained strength and finally turned a corner when they began steadily putting on weight. As Sam's health improved, his energy and curiosity blossomed.
Once fully recovered, the kittens learned to eat from a dish, watching and mimicking the other cats in the house.

Before long, their foster home echoed with the sound of tiny paws racing from room to room. They chased wand toys, climbed cat trees, and explored every corner with enthusiasm.
They share an incredibly close bond and make a dynamic duo. "Sam and Tom have been inseparable since the day they arrived. They love other cats and are very social. They adore attention and thrive when someone takes the time to play with them."

They are always together as if joined at the hip. Tom is the mischievous one and looks like he's always up to something, while Sam is calmer and the "wiser" of the two. Their personalities complement each other perfectly.
Tom will chase anything that moves: dust motes, leaves, shadows, and most often, his brother Sam.

He never seems to tire of playtime, whether it's with his humans, his brother, or just by himself. He starts purring the moment he's touched and is rarely far from Sam.
Sam, on the other hand, plays the role of big brother, tolerating Tom's every antic and letting him tumble all over him. "They love to cuddle, purr, and fall asleep on or beside their humans on the couch, in bed, or nestled in their arms."

The once-fragile kittens have blossomed into playful little troublemakers, filling the house with joy and laughter. They sprint at full speed, leap on and off furniture, and weave between their people's feet. "If they decide nighttime is playtime, they'll climb onto their humans in bed and chase shadows."
They survived the outdoors together. Now under the loving care of their foster family, they are truly flourishing.
