On Wednesday 10th, it was announced that the different companies haven’t come to an agreement to extend the contracts and decided to disband the group, whom had recently hosted an online party for ‘Universe’ app.
Mnet expressed through an official statement:
Hello, this is Mnet. Mnet and Swing Entertainment have been discussing and listening to the opinions of each agency for the best activities of 12 members before the end of the project IZ*ONE.
IZ*ONE’s project activity, which debuted with the COLOR*IZ album in 2018 and has grown into a girl group representing Asia, has been greatly loved on the global stage as well as in Korea, will be completed as scheduled in April.
‘ONE, THE STORY’, an online concert, will be held for two days on March 13th and 14th.
The giant producer also thanked the members for their dedication to the project and wished them well on their future.
On the other hand, members have also been busy with solo activities. Kim Chaewon received great praise on her participation of last week’s King of Masked Singer and Ahn Yujin is the new MC of Inkigayo along TREASURE’s Jihoon and NCT’s Sungchan.
In addition, both leader Eunbin and maknae Wonyoung, are very loved by the korean netizens, with many raving about their beauty after each instagram post.
